Georgian Townhouse II
Location: Kingsdown, Bristol
Project type: Kitchen Renovation
This kitchen renovation project blends the rustic warmth of a farmhouse style with Georgian era flair and symmetry. We emphasised natural materials, vintage pieces, and a central table to create a space that feels both timeless and inviting.
We introduced a modern interpretation of a Shaker kitchen, blending simplicity with function. Thoughtfully chosen colours, worktops, and accessories create a cohesive look, while each element maintains its own distinct presence.
Despite the challenge of a low floor-to-ceiling height, the design cleverly maximises the space by using light, reflective surfaces and strategically placed storage solutions.
The result is a kitchen that feels airy and spacious without compromising on style or utility.
The muted tones and clean lines bring a sense of calm to the space, while the practical design ensures it’s both beautiful and highly functional.
The materials—from cabinetry to worktops to hardware—are thoughtfully selected to create a seamless flow throughout.
We opted for encaustic cement tiles with a green stripe pattern, to add visual flair to the cooking area.
We placed a characterful, reclaimed wooden table at the heart of the room for prepping, socialising, and dining.
Industrial green pendant lights complement the tile splash-back, while adding a contemporary feel to the interior.
Finally, we added warmth and texture through neutral textile elements - a sheepskin throw, a jute rug, and seagrass lampshade.
